This particular lycanthrope retains his mental clarity while in lycan form, thanks to the research efforts of The Researcher (q.v.). He typically operates solo, because no human can keep up with him, although The Cyborg can match and sometimes even out-perform him - but not always, because even here, The Ranger's lycan brain can think and act faster than The Cyborg's human brain.

The Ranger is not dressed this way for a night of disco dancing. Rather, he wears this specially designed tear-away clothing during operations because it makes his transformations easier - and it allows him to retain underwear, so that he is not "left hanging," so to speak.
